The city of Exeter has an extensive history stretching back over 2000 years and there are still many visual aspects that reflect on centuries of history. The concept behind this publication is to provide a simple handbook that will provide a quick reference to some buildings, sites and monuments around the city. It is based on the work carried between 1985 and 1987 by Peter Thomas and illustrators employed on The Exeter Heritage Appreciation Project.
